The Secret to Bold Lips

First you have to have smooth flake-free lips. To achieve this you must exfoliate. Here is a recipe to make your own scrub from simple grocery items:

Sugar   *    Honey    *    Small Mixing Bowl and Spoon

Mix a teaspoon of sugar and a teaspoon of honey.  This will form a sugary paste with just the right amount of grit.  Place a small amount on your lips.  With either a soft bristle toothbrush or your fingertip, gently massage your lips in a circular motion for a couple of minutes.  Rinse with warm water. Apply a little lip balm to moisturize and then blot to remove excess.  Your lips are ready for color.

Before applying your lip color, you want to neutralize your lips. Your lips have color and when applying lip color directly to your lips, the lip color will change. To keep the red red or that pink pink, dab a little foundation or concealer to your lips. This will give your lips their neutral color and will keep the color bold and bright.

Prevent color bleed. This is easy. Use your liner. Outline your lips and fill in your lip creases with lip liner. Try and use a color close to your lip color. Contrasting liner is a thing of the past, the 80′s. Lining prevents color from bleeding.

Last but not least is blending. Use a fine tipped brush to blend your lip color and liner. You don’t want to leave a noticeable line of where the lip color and liner meets. You want them to be one. Also a brush helps even out your lip color.

You are now ready for a day of fun or a night out on the town.
